I had three days in a row off from school and work for the first time in I don't know how long, so I decided to make the 4 hour drive up to Great Sacandaga with my brother to visit my grandparents. We got up there Saturday and left Monday, but only fished Saturday and Sunday. Fishing was slow, and we only managed a grand total of 4 smallies between us for the whole weekend with me outfishing him 3 to 1. One of my fish came on a DT10 and the other 2 hit tubes, while my brother's fish hit a hair jig. I'm not sure how deep we were fishing because there's no electronics on the boat we use up there, but based on how high the water was and my knowledge of the lake from seeing it drawn down, I would estimate that most of our fish came out of 10-13 feet of water on a sloping sandy bottom interspersed with boulders and adjacent to deeper water.
