pond/lake lures

Recommended Posts

we don't have a bass pro shops anywhere near us in nc so when we go to the beach i always get a list of baits and lures to get.

we just built a pond last year and stocked it with smallmouth, brim, catfish, and carp. I also go fishin out on the lake with my friends alot too. what are your suggestions on what to get there?

Jigs with Trailers.

Shaky Head Jigs.

Weedless Hooks.

1/8 to 1/4 Bullet Weights with Pegs.

Spinning Reel.

6'6" Medium or Medium Heavy Spinning Rod.

6 or 8 Pound Flouro Line.

Extra Spinning Reel.

Bug Spray.

Shotgun for Snakes.

Polarized Sunglasses.

Small Container To Use as Tackle Box.

Heavier Set Up for Catfish, Like Baitcaster With 12 Pound Test Line and Circle Hooks.

In other words, just about anything you want to take with you will do.

The fun is trying to catch the fish on all sorts of presentations and techniques.

Go small with your baits.

Shaky Head, Wacky Senkos and Finesse worms, Texas-Rigged plastics, a Carolina Rig, and just about anything you want to throw.

I like the Bandit 100 chartreuse with blue back cranks for ponds.

Just remember to bring your pliers with you when fishing to remove the hooks.  ;)

thanks that gives me a good look on what to get.

that's the best part of our pond it's about 100 yards from our house and it's also a recreational pond so it's about as clean as you get.
