Love My New Avid

Featured Replies

I just received my new St Croix Avid 7'0" MF and teamed it with one of my two Curado E7s. I don't know if it's optimum because all the different rod choices are confusing to me but I used it yesterday with my "go to" top water "Devil's Horse." I worked down a clay bank in the early morning and about every ten feet I would get a strike. Most of them were two pounds plus with the largest 2.75 pounds (scale weight). I'm in love with the rod. I could finesse the lure in or bullet it in under brush with no problems. I'd like to try a Revo Premier to compare with the Curados but feel a little guilty about spending $200 plus just to compare.

I have 3 Avids...Love them...I have Johnny Morris Sig Series reels on all of them....Great set-up.... Congrats on the new rod....P.S. Dont forget to warranty register it on-line
