Got To Go To A Honey Hole

Featured Replies

One of my Soldiers got permission to fish a private pond... and it didn't disappoint! Started off using yum dingers and was getting dinks...for some reason I had a HUGE issue with my knots slipping and losing hooks... I had never had the issue before but yesterday I lost 3 bass that would have gone 3 pounds or better because of this... hell I had my fishing partner go kindergarten for me and tied a hook for me and his hook knot slipped too! I was using berkley trilene XL ... anyways we just kept at it and added more loops to the knots and it finally started holding... then the bite died so we went to the dock and started using live bait.. then the fun began! between the two of us we caught 5 bass weighing better than 3.5 and the biggest was almost 5... it was a blast catching bigger fish and I am glad I got to go.. I had gone one other time since I got back but it wasn't anything memorable.. most of the ponds here on post are closed for one reason or another.. but anyways.. it was great and I am looking forward to going more!
