somebody was stocking monkton pond with bowfin?!? thats crazy! i have only been once, but my friend caught a bowfin honestly 12 inches from where he was standing. nothing was biting, so we tried some crappie jigs. he was reeling it in, and saw the bowfin pop out from around some weeds. as soon as he threw it back in the bowfin hit it. i dont mind fishing for bowfin when the bite is slow, but stocking other places is a joke.
