Code For Age Of Line

I spoke with a Berkley customer service lady who gave me the code to interpert the digets to find out when the line was manufactured.

This applies to Berkley lines.

Look at the spool's label.

At the bottom of the lable you will see four digets.

The first is a letter followed by three numbers.

Here is the code for the manufacturing date:

Letter - A for January; B for February; C for March; and so on.

1st Number - Day of the month. 02 is the second; 10 is the 10th; etc.

2nd Number - Year. 7 = 2001; 10 = 2010.

3rd Number - She said not to worry about this number. It is probably the batch number.

E-02-7-21 = March 2, 2007.

So when shoppnig for fresh line look at the spool's label and decipher the code adn you will be buying the freshest line in the store. ;)
