What Are They Hitting?

Featured Replies

Hey with the temperatures going up and the fish getting off the beds, now the real fishing begins. This is my favorite time to bass fish cause they seem to hit almost everything. Tell me where you've fished and what they hit.

SPECIAL EDITION BAMA BUG SENKO wacky rigged been scorching 'em with this at a nearby 26acre lake. This lake has very little hard structure mostly weeds find an open pocket and aim for it get a couple/few.

I caught my PB last week on a white spinner with one gold and one silver willow blade. Reeled slow parallel to lay downs and grass lines.

Also done well with Baby Brush Hogs, Senkos, and a black and blue jig with a Berkeley powerbait 5" grub as a trailer.

Shad colored cranks have done well. Orange floating minnow. Shad colored chatterbaits.

12" yum ribbontails, blue fleck.

Ha my buddy and I have really branched out on what we've been fishing. We don't like to use the same technique over and over again unless we need to fall back on our confidence baits. Which lately they've been hitting it all so we've been able to experiment more with what we want to use.

i throw a mini white chatterbait too that has been doing well recently

I'm doing pretty good on a 3/8 white chattebrait with live magic shad, watermelon. I even landed a 3 lb cat from Rappannock with it. Other than that wacky junebug. I did land 2 on frog, ragetaill and ribbit, and 1 on a 3/8 black blue jig.

Wacky Senkos. ;)

last time i got out i was catching them on rage tail lizards. a blue gill bit the tail off one, i still caught a couple bass on it, then i hooked one in the gullet and while trying to move the lizard out of the way and use the through the gills method i tore off the back two legs and managed to catch one more bass on it like that before i called it a day.

also before i went to the lizard i was having fun catching blue gill with a rebel tad fry and caught a couple bass on that...
