Anyone use them for punching? The concept seems like it makes sense. I do most of my punching now with a 3/4 to 1 oz weight over a 5/0 EWG superline hook with usually a beaver. Just wondering what the dis advantages would be with this rig.

The little "keeper" on the weight that makes it the Okeechobee, I think, makes it very hard to peg the weight to the plastic. It always has a gap. And for some reason, that gap grabs more salad going through slop than you or I could with a shovel.

That being said, if you find it does work, don't only take my word because I am FAR from an expert, please let me know how you did make it work. I do like using that rig on edges and other cover.

And, for the record, there are a LOT of baits that are better suited to punch than a beaver style bait. The more slender the better, they pop through easier, and with less issue on hooks.

I will give them a try and let you know how it works for me. Ive never had a problem getting a beaver through the thick stuff. I use Zoom super hogs also with success.

I've used that rig and didn't like it, it goes into tge grass well but coming out it grabs EVERYTHING, there is no "cone" coming out of the grass to help the bait come out, it is just a blunt bait. Hangs up alot, very frustrating
