My love for a tackle shop

Featured Replies

Let me just start off saying where I live we don't really have "tackle shops", we have Academy and Gander Mtn. I think they are great too but, When I went fishing this past Monday we stopped in Jasper Tx at 2 tackle shops. Needmore tackle and Anne's Tackle shop. It was like I was a kid again. They had everything i could dream of. They did not have golf clubs, shoes, camping equipment, plastic swimming pools, propane exchanges, or baseball gloves. It was nothing but Fishing lures, rods, lines and big ol sow belly bass on the wall. I thought I was in heaven. You can always find some good stuff in the old tackle shops that Academy and Gander do not have and will not order for you. It was just a good day for me, It made me feel better for the horrible, wind blown, catch only 2 fish in 6 hours day on the lake I just had. Just though I would share my thoughts. ::)

Years ago when fishing with my Daddy, it was one of the best parts of the trip! All the different sights, sounds and smells was GREAT. The characters you would meet  and see was something else. Getting real hard to find these days :)...
