Jackall Baits

Featured Replies

I have had good sucess with there 6.8 worm.  Really thinking about getting into some of there crankbaits.  What other baits made by jackall do you guys like?    The popper looks pretty good.

I have the Jackall Dagored, which I have yet to catch anything with it yet. But only because I'm still looking for the right application to fish it with confidence. Awesome bait though.

I also have 2 Jackall Mikey Jr. Great wake bait. I've got 1 in the HL Sunfish & 1 in the Tennessee Shad. I love these two baits. When the weather is calm, esp. calm & cloudy, these two will just tear them up. Absolutely love them.

Very impressed with the overall construction of the baits. Top quality components, awesome paint jobs/schemes, good hooks. The works man. I highly recommend these baits, & I will be buying more.

The Squad Minnow jerkbaits are some of the best out there. I also like the Girons, and like you said, the Flick Shake worms in the 4.8" and 5.8" sizes.

Jackall generally makes a quality bait.  Some are better than others.

I've got a bunch of Jackalls. Here are my thoughts, in no particular order.

The Cherrys are very good cranks. They have very nice, detailed finishes, fantastic hooks and a really wide wobble. The Cherry Zero footer, essentially a little wake bait, is a very good bait when the topwater bite is on.

The poppers are excellent. I like them much better than Lucky Crafts. Again, they have great finishes, great hooks, and they are exceptionally easy to work. They produce a nice and loud pop. They sit in the water with a slightly tail-down attitude.

The Giron is decent swimbait. Again, the finishes are excellent as are the hooks (in fact, that's the case with all their baits). They have a very nice action. The only complaint is they tend to roll too much at high retrieve speeds. You can actually make them roll all the way over. They have a nice sink characteristic. They stay horizontal as they sink and rest on their hooks when they reach bottom. It is a good bed fishing bait.

Jackall's jerkbaits really excel. The Squad Minnow is very similar to the LC Pointer. But the Squad Minnow tends to stop more quickly (instead of gliding to a halt like the LC). They look more erratic than the LC when you work them.

My favorite is the Squirrel. It's a relatively small jerk. It's a deep diver. But you can work it very erratically. If you crank it, it has a nice, wide wobble. This is an excellent bait.

I have several of the Mikey Jr swim/wake baits. I haven't caught many fish on them, and nothing I've caught has had any real size. But they look darn good in the water. They ungulate nicely.

The Bonnie's are the equals of the LC Sammys, IMHO.

The Dagored. I'm a bit ambivalent about this one. It is a real nice looking bait. But the action leaves a little to be desired. And if you jerk it to try and get more action, it will roll on its side. I need more time with this one.

I have a bunch of the Aragon SRs. These are jointed crankbaits. I haven't had them long enough to do any major damage. But again, they look real good in the water. Very nice actions and they do click.

The T/N70 lipless is, IMHO, one of the best lipless on the market (along with the Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drum). It has an excellent action even on a very slow retrieve. It sinks nose-first and nose-stands when it hits bottom. It flutters nicely if you lift it straight up. It is an excellent jigging, bed fishing, slow retrieving, or fast retrieving bait. If there is a lipless that does it all, this is it.

All in all, Jackalls perform in a manner consistent with their premium prices. As Pantera stated, some work better than others. All are good, though, and many are great.

I love Jackall baits. The Cover Craw is a great bait if you fish around overhanging trees and docks and such.....it floats away from you and under the cover. Very good bait that has a nice texture sort of like the Yamamoto Plastics.

The Flick Shake worms and the Wacky Jig head combo has been a big producer this year. The little wacky jig head and unique design of the flick shake makes it look like its being electrocuted when you give it a good shake. Both the wacky jig heads and the flick shake worms are worth every penny.

The Aragon crankbait is a good one. I've been catching some good quality fish on these, especially when I fish stained water. The clicking sound draws 'em in from a long ways off. Excellent quality hooks right out of the package and the paint on these things has been really tough so far.

The Squad Minnow did great this spring when the fish were just moving up. If you could find a group of fish, the Squad Minnow would take care of things. Nice, quick, erratic roll.

Jackall Muscle Deep series cranks. Great baits. A little smaller profile than others in its class but the action on these is for real. The Muscle Deep 15+ is my favorite Jackall bait out of all of 'em.

i have some of the aragons, dagoreds and girons.the aragons and dagoreds work great and cath quality fish, the girons are nice but if you fish them to fast they roll and do everything but swim, but i do like how they sink slow and when they hit bottom them just sit there perfectly straight.

I've also been very impressed with most of their hardbaits. The ones that I would reccomend would include the Muscle Deep 15 Plus cranks(my favorite as well), the Cherry Zero footer, Squad Minnow jerkbait, the Bonnie walking bait and the TN 70 lipless bait. I've been a little underwhelmed with the Giron, maybe I haven't fished it right but I seem to do better with other small swimbaits like the SK King Shad, Spro BBZ-1 & the River To Sea V Joint Wake Minnow. There are a few of their baits I've yet to try, but overall I've been very impressed with most of the products that I've sampled so far. I'm curious if anyone has tried the Mudsucker, looks similiar to the Lucky Craft Gunfish.

The only one I have used is the cover craw, and i absolutely love it. The sliding backwards action it has when rigged weightless is something i've never seen before and it drives the bass crazy
