Featured Replies

On a revo s of mine the levelwind is getting stuck on one side during retrieves, Is there an easy fix? It just started doing it about an hour ago. I figured this forum has the most knowledgeable people with the least amount of smug pretension. Thanks again for even reading this

Yea, check the worm gear for any gummed up grease, clean the gear and re-lube with oil only. If no improvement remove pawl cap and check the pawl for wear. If worn replace the pawl. If you don't feel you can take care of it, then have the reel professionally serviced.......

It was gummed up. I figured I could take care of it, I just didn't know what to look for specifically. Anytime my reels have a problem I do all the repairs, just hadn't had that problem until this morning. I learn to fix as something breaks. Thank you very much

I had a abu round baitcaster for several years that I put 3 of those pawls in. Dirt and or dust in the worm gear wears it down. Now I have reels covers on all my baitcasters. I was told that one of the worst things is the dust they collect from running down gravel roads. Its very fine grit and sands away at that pawl.
