Strike King 3X Centipede

Featured Replies

Picked up about 6 packs at the Sportsmans Warehouse the other day. I like how soft they are and figured they would be great on a Wacky rigged weightless presentation.

Then I saw that they float. Bummer,I had really wanted to fish them like a Senko Wacky rigged.

Since they float, what else can i do with these things? Anyone have success with them, how do you present them? How would these be on a Dropshot?

Worm weights work good also.  They look like little nails but are made of lead so you can break them.

These things can drive you crazy in a good and bad way. but all in all these are great lure. I have fished them every way that I could. C-rig, T-rig in heavy cover, weightless, drop shot..and yea thats about it. Here's what I can say. They all work..well the drop shot was a dud but I'm no expert in that.

The weightless rig can be your best friend in ponds. If you can find the right hook size you can suspend the rig below the surface for a long time. With soft pop like you would a jerkbait, the lure will dive a bit deeper because of the way it is balanced. I have caught a number of fish over 4lbs on this setup. Hope that helps.

Try rigging them on a "Wacky Head" jig. Or even a small ball-head.

I was going to say use a real small jig head for wacky presentation. I think they may even make one that's weedless.

The 3X Centipede has been my #1 bait on a carolina rig for several years now. I throw it on a 1/0 Owner for maximum float.
