Bsr803 Glx/mossy

Featured Replies

would this be a good rod for dedicated tube dragging?

bsr803 mossy/glx - 6'8" 8-14lb, 1/8-5/16, Xfast, med-heavy

(it has a picture of a tube on the rod, not sure if that means anything)

i normally use mostly 1/2oz, pretty rarely 1/4 upto 3/4oz , how accurate is this rating from loomis? And extra fast is more ideal for setting hooks on tubes right?

or would this be better?

SJR843 IMX 7', 8-15lb, 3/16-3/4oz, Fast, Med-Heavy

these are my choices, as I have a rod I don't use and want to trade for one of these.

looking to throw it on lake erie btw, if that helps.

i think you would need a 4 power rod.

3/4 will be too much for this rod imo.i think youre better off with casting gear at that weight.i have used 1/2 with this rod 803 glx and it was ,,,,ok.3/8 plus tube would be about perfect i think.

i did end up selling this rod,and i bought it for tubes too.
