Line Spooling

Featured Replies

would it be ok to put a full spool of yo-zuri hybrid on my baitcaster? most people would put mono as a backing then flour but yo-zuri isnt fully flouro. im not worrying about the wasting factor. i do occasionally backlash and have to cut line out but id rather have it full of the flouro then get back down to mono. anyone experience with doing this?

Go ahead and fill the whole spool.

The only time i partly fill the spool with mainline;

1. Briad. Mono backing to prevent line slip.

2. Expensive fluoro. I can stretch that spool to go on a few reels instead of one, maybe 2.

3. I lose enough line to affect my casting distance. I'll just tie on some more line.

4. If I do put a line on top of another, I always make sure I have enough mainline so that I never see, or feel the knot on the spool.
