Knot & Leader ?

I am new to the forum and have been doing a Lot of searching and learning... but I have a few questions on how to rig up.

I am using 10# 832 mainline (bright Green?) should I run a leader before my Senkos...? Should the leader be fluorocarbon? Should the leader also be 10#? How long of a leader should I use (4-5')? I sometimes use a swivel and a 12" leader , what knot do you use with A swivel or is that not a long enough leader?

Basically how do you rig your Senko's...

I rig my Senkos on 30lb. Power Pro. No leader.

I'd get some leader material. Flurocarbon is optimal, Seaguar is my favorite. You want to match the braided lines diameter. You can google it. Then find the # test of fluro of the brand you want thats the closest.

Braid is very strong indeed. But it's not very abrasion resistant. Best to use a fluoro leader, a bit lower in breaking strength to the main line. Fluorocarbon is very abrasion resistant and will sink well, in combination with the 832 main line.

Connect the two lines using an Alberto knot. (Plenty of instructions on Google.) Get some "Zap-A-Gap" glue to lightly coat the knot when completed. I use about a 6' length of leader, trying to keep the joining knot away from the rod tip, for better casting.

Plenty of knots you can use for joining to your hook or lure. I'm fond of the Trilene knot, but I'm told the simple Palomar knot is just as strong.

I only use florocarbon leaders and tie leader to braid when fishing for certain species, freshwater bass are not one of them. Almost all of my fishing is done (salt and fresh) with braid and about a 15" leader tied to BB or barrel swivel, ordinary clinch knot works just fine, even for larger fish. The only thing I really do different is I use a heavier leader than most do, my standard set up is 10# or 15# with 20# leader, same set up in saltwater but a 30# or 40# leader there. I'm able to save more lures when they get hung up with the heavier leader, I've seen no loss in lure action.
