Gulp alive

Featured Replies

I used the gulp alive 3" minnow the other day, and I caught 27! I fish ponds most of the time and there is not much brush in them... the water is clear. If anyone has used the jerk shad just give me a rate on it!

Thanks,

Josh

Early this year I bought several "trial" packs of the Gulp minnows and leeches for drop shotting. The last two time out, I caught nothing using the Gulp products; but as soon as I switched back to my Roboworms, I started hammering the big smallies. I'll still keep trying them for this year, but it's not looking good so far!  :)

Funny, I was going to put a post up about this bait today.

While fishing my local pond yesterday with absolutely no success, I threw a regular Gulp 4" New Penny minnow on and just hooked it up through the nose (I only had Gammy Finesse Wide Gaps with me and wasn't sure they would swim straight any other way). On the first cast, I had a bass hit it so hard I thought that I had gotten caught up on something on the bottom, until it jumped out of the water and spit the hook out - I was so surprised that I didn't set the hook. I couldn't stay long after that, but it has really got my interest up in this bait. How would you all recommend rigging this up? It's a tiny pond, but I think it's holding some sweet largemouths, as no one fishes for bass in it.

Well, I just rig them Texas, and twitch them and have had some luck. my ponds aren't very big either... I just had fun watching the lure in the water! But it wasn't bad when i caught some fish either  :)
