Super!

If Boyd Duckett is involved it is a first class operation.

Will look for details on the Internet.

Thanks for letting us know. :)

Meh, it's a reality show about tournament fishing, "The idea is to spice up bass fishing with new rules and a new format to give greater insight into what anglers go through and capture the drama to draw in more viewers, Rucks said." "The group was looking for less emphasis on the fish caught, with more emphasis on personalities, the struggles, the strategies, the conflicts and the emotions of the anglers."(Taken from Majorleaguefishing.com)

Those two quotes are enough to turn me off initially. I could give a hoot less about the drama, I don't want entertainment in a fishing show. I watch for technique, experience, and education. You can pick up a tremendous amount of information from subtleties alone. Just want America needs, trash fishing television. It isn't bad enough Jersey shore is back for another round, now we have this. I'm disappointed at the initial look and thought process behind it. I think it's grasping at straws to grow the fan base by utilizing a format and media that has been otherwise successful. I could say a whole lot more but will hope to be proven completely wrong.

I'm also curious, Sam, why you are of the opinion that if Duckett is involved it is a guaranteed first class operation?

The one thing I like is that they don't know where they're fishing until just before the tourney...and they use an MLF boat with no waypoints to help them out. I think it may show who the TRUE fisherman are.

Not one of those guys got to where they are from using someone else's waypoints. I mean, seriously, fishing at that level day in and day out is going to do nothing but improve your skill and ability to put together a pattern. Every one of them is a TRUE fisherman, they've nothing to prove.

Here is my two cents for what it is worth. I personally do not care for reality TV programming. That being said the Real Housewives of New Jersey has an audience of 1.7 Million. Where as Bass tournaments struggle to break the 300,000 mark. For tournament pro's to move the sport forward they have to bring in a larger fan base. Some have tried before and failed. This venture though has the biggest names in the sport. They arent out here to prove anything to us. They love the sport, they love to compete. I believe these anglers are trying to push this sport forward to garner bigger sponsors. NASCAR is the example they have been trying to model after and it hasnt brought the total numbers desired. In this market people want drama and conflict. That is what causes the average non angler to want to watch. Once you have non anglers watching and following the sport more sponsors and bigger payouts at all levels of competition. Just my two cents

I didn't mean that they got them from someone else. It's the fact that they don't have there own to fall back on. They will have to start from scratch during practice. It will be true-ER test of their fish finding abilities.

On a side note---I don't think they've gotten were they are by taking others waypoints, but I do know a lot of them ask for help from guides and locals they know, and I'm sure some of them "borrow" waypoints. This format lessens the chance that they will have outside help.
