Trolling Motor Swap

Featured Replies

I have a bow mount trolling motor on my boat right now. Unfortunately it's an old trolling motor, so it's finally gone out. I have a buddy that is getting rid of his Transom mount trolling for a very reasonable price. Is there any possible way to swap my trolling motor for the new motor and put the new motor on my old bracket?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

If you know how to rewire the new trolling motor there should not be a problem unless the shaft is much shorter or longer than needed.

Check out the shaft length and the voltage plus the thrust power to make sure it will work on your boat. :)

You will have to turn the head around on the new trolling motor otherwise to go forward the tiller will be point straight out from the boat

Thanks for the help guys... I guess when I looked at it before, I was over complicating things. It took me about an hour to swap the trolling motors. Works like a champ. Can't wait to go fishing and try it out. Its got a lot more power than my old one....Thanks again
