Baseball: Then And Now

Featured Replies

Some of you might remember a post way back at the beginning of the season that I made after the hurt the Rangers put on Boston when they played their first series.

So let’s talk about how you feel about your team now compared to how you felt back at the beginning.

For me this season has been even better than expected. Yes there has been some bad stretches due to injury but other than that life is good.

Pitching

We might not have an ace but all of our starters have at least 11 wins and at the end of the day CJ Wilson can go toe to toe against anyone in baseball and give us a chance. The bullpen is great now so no worries about losing it late.

Offense

One of the best and we have only seen it at full power for a few weeks at a time. Michael Young is also having a MVP like season and it’s great to see him get the respect he has deserved for so long.

Defense

Hasn't always played up to its potential but the talent is there just a matter of getting it firing on the same cylinders.

Overall

This might not be B-town or NY but are expectations are the same as those towns. We want to get back to the World Series and we got the tools to do it.

Da Yankees are still the Yankees.

Love 'em or hate 'em, they are still the Yankees.

I was concerned at the beginning of the year but now I think they can keep within striking distance of the Red Sox.

The pitching is going to be the key down the stretch. :)

Sam, Yanks are in 1st right now, with a 1/2 game lead. It's been neck and neck since the break.

Wow and Texas plays Boston next. Don't know if I want them to win or lose because winning would help the Yankees

That's loser talk right there, LOL. I NEVER think to myself, "Gee, I hope we lose to the Tigers, cos if we win we're helping Cleveland" LMAO. You need wins. Seven games isn't as big a lead in mid August as you think. Ask those quadruple A Mets.

True J winning can only help and we already kicked big bad Yankee **** in the playoffs last year.

Yo Red Soxs we are gunning for your next.

I went from optimistic for the Sox for a title run to mildly concerned in April back to fairly confident in a title run if they can get their pitchers healthy. With that lineup they're never really out of a game, so I can't wait until October.
