We had a late tide yesterday morning and lived up to it's reputation, no bait, no fish. I was chomping at the bit to fish the last of the incoming tide as that can be productive for tarpon. Got to the inlet at 2:30 am, fished for a couple of hours and no hit, finally at about 5;00 this juvie tarpon nails my DOA jerk shad, and a perfect Palm Beach release.

Sun comes up, tide is going out and still no bait and no fish, I was really surprised with the outer bands of Irene making it's presence. One of my home boys nets a few croakers so i say what the f**k and baited about 8 incher on a 4/0 circle hook and free lined it. Just below me with my bait swimming near the surface this huge snook comes up from no place and inhales this croaker, well fish on. Cutting to the chase, after a real quality battle I send this young kid down near the pylons to release this nice lady, we all thought that this fish was in the 30# range.

It's 12:30 am and I'm getting ready to head out there again right now.
