Planting Small Food Plots

Featured Replies

Getting ready for the bow season in VA and decided i would try a small food plot in my area by one of my stands. I have never tried planting a food plot but will give it a go this year. Ive done some reading on the basics and I ordered some whitetail institute "no plow" bc where i hunt i wont be able to bring in heavy equipment. Tomorrow im waking up and hitting the woods and will start planting my plot. I will be taking a small mantis tiller along with few rakes and other small hand tools in hopes of making a nice food plot to draw some deer in closer...hope it works out as planned! Going to try to get seed in the ground bf this rain storm hits this weekend!

Has anyone else had success planting a small plot in their hunting area...not talking huge fields just lil small open areas on your land. Any tips or success stories?
