We got pounded with rain the last 3 days in Northcentral PA, over 10 inches in my hometown. The Susquehanna river is at flood stage but not the worst its been, but the tribs. are all at record flood levels. The National Guard was rescuing people from helicopter and boats. One road overpass and a railroad bridge washed away on one creek. The communities on the North Branch of the Susky will see record crests later this evening and early morning. Its truly amazing what power moving water has.

I welcomed almost 5' (yes, FEET) of water into my basement today. Saved my guns, my tackle, a few bits of clothing but almost all of my other possessions are gone. Luckily the water did not get high enough to wash my boat off of it's saw-horses. I am going to be very busy in the near future.

Had that happen twice to me, never living next to a stream again that's for sure.

Delaware river is suppose to crest at 31 ft, not nearly as bad as 2006 when it was 38.6ft.

Susky is nasty near Harrisburg. We got lucky here near the Juniata, it could have been worse... Never made it above 20 ft. here...

Dan, so sorry to hear about your water problem.

The Historic James River above Bosher's Dam in Richmond is high and muddy but so far it has stayed within its banks. No tidal river fishing in Virginia for a few days unless you like to fish dirty water.

Electricity and water - two things we cannot control.

So sorry to hear about your losses. I tied a boat to our front porch once and waded thigh high water in our house , it was a devastating scene believe me.

Thanks Shootermcbob. We now have everything cleared out of the basement (two bedrooms, long hallway, utility room with furnace and water heater which need replaced, bathroom and laundry room). Tomorrow we pull the wood paneling off the walls. We have 4 box fans and 2 dehumidifiers running non-stop.

Before replacing the heaters, make sure they dry out throughly, good chance they might still work
