Rage Smokin Rooster Goes West

Featured Replies

I was forwarded this video link of a couple of young guys in California fishing the Smokin Rooster. From what I can tell, they were casting a T-Rig and also flipping/pitching. I believe their rigging was 1/2 oz tungsten and 4 to 5/0 EWG.

I haven't fished California but I like the layout of many of their lakes, deep drops, rocks etc... The Rooster would be one of my first choices for flipping/ pitching as well. Makes my hands itch just thinking about it.

Woo hoo! Looks like a blast!

Was just out this weekend catching big bass on Roosters on a western lake. I tried a few different baits, but the Roosters consistently got the big girls. :)

I wish the Academy here would start carrying more Rage products. They only have the craws, baby craws and anacondas. I flip and pitch alot and need to get me some of them roosters. Guess I will have to make a TW order sometime.

I fish a few old mine pits in CA around the Snelling Area and then Clear and Shasta a lot. The Rooster is one of my very best baits for that area. I have consistently done well on the bait in the mine pits fished on deep rock edges, and on a TX rig in deep weed edges.

Hooli... I know of where you speak. Seems like I finesse the heck out of those lakes, but maybe it's time for me to step it up a bit.
