Waking Single Colorado Bladed Spinnerbaits

Featured Replies

What size and color line should I use? I was out today and caught one that was about 1.25 pounds on the edge of a shoreling gras bed using 12 pound bright green monofilament on a 6'6 Medium action rod with spinning gear.......... Do i need heavier tackle and what other types of cover is good to wake a spinner bait with? Anyone ever catch a big bass doing this? Also, Today I had a bass turn and wake head on for my spinnerbait but missed it....... What should i do in this situation?

12lb line is not bad but heavier won't hurt. I like 15 to 17 mono for topwater type fishing. On most spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and topwater lures, unless there small lures, heavier line won't affect action. Mono tends to float so it won't pull your bait down.

As far as the bass missing your bait. I would have thrown right back but burned it across were it was and then killed (pause the lure) it from time to time
