Anyone have a good lure retriever that works ftom the shore? I am losing two to three lures a week and can not afford it anymore!!!!!!!! Most of the ones that i see online (that have good reviews) seem to work only when in a boat and positioned directly above the lure. Most of my snags are thirty to forty feet from shore.

You have a problem , the best answer I have is to use a heavy braid(40 or 50 lb). I have saved many lures by slowly hand pulling the baits and straightening out the hooks to get the bait back.

Your only solution is what Grey Wolf said about using heavy braid. Those retrievers that use a weight sliding down the line don't work when the line is at an angle. Maybe your other option is cheaper lures?

I faced that problem for a long time. I got the BPS lure retriever for 7 or 8 $? It saved a coupple of my 10$ and 12$ lures a coupple times by stretching the line really tight and letting the weight go all the way to the bait then by raising and lowering my rod. It worked some times and it paid for it self the first day. But in Arizona most snags are big rocks so its probably a little easier to break it loose. I now use a boat so I havent faced that issue much. Now the problem is getting a lure out of a tree thats on shore!

There is something called Ultimate SmartLink Luresaver System Split Rings. Never have used them but I'm sure somebody here has. It's supposed to open under hard steady pressure and release the hook from the lure. You would then retrieve the lure and put on a new ring and trebel hook. Might be worth looking into.
