Luhr Jensen 3/4 ounce Hot Lips.

Featured Replies

Does anyone else use this deep crank?  I wonder why it gets no publicity.

No other crankbait has produced deep bass for me like the 3/4 ounce threadfin shad. Not even close.  It'll beat you up cranking it all day though.

They sure are awesome, the way they bounce off rocks amazes me. The only downside is the huge hole they rip in the bass's lip.

Too bad I only have one left after I broke a good fish off in a deep brushpile today. I may go out in the boat tomorrow so I can recover the crankbait and make sure the fish is ok. I could hear him trying to shake it out under the boat after I broke him off.

Yea, they do leave a big hole, and I have some issues with the lure getting thrown because of that, but man does it catch fish.  I crank with 10# fluoro so I have just no idea how deep the thing goes, but it pulls fish from the depths, that's all I know.

I have good luck with the Crystal Crawdad pattern in the late winter, pre-spawn also.  Haven't caught anything with the chart/blue back yet but haven't really thrown it because the threadfin shad pattern works that d**n well.

I have been using the chartreuse blue back and the fish love it.  I was hitting the bottom in 18 feet of water with 15 pound mono so I can't wait to try this thing with 10 pound flourocarbon.
