Has the motor been checked out, how good does it run?

If you're able to do all your to do all the necessary work, replacing rotted floor (which may require pulling the cap off), all the fiberglass, upholstry and possible engine work yourself then you may have done ok. If you can't do all this, it's pobably going to be a very expensive money pit if you start trying to fix it up.

One suggestion, before the floor completely gives way, get a piece of something like 16 guage sheet metal and cover the soft spot with plenty extra beyound it to support it. Then put your carpet over it.

What year is the hull and motor?

It is tough to judge or make a determination on whether you have a good deal or not without more information.

There are too many unknowns for me. Buying a project boat like this from an owner would at least give you some information and history about the boat. Buying from a pawn shop, you get sketchy info at best.

Make sure you have life jackets.

It doesn't matter what we think , the reality of it all will be what your final cost will be.You will then be able to evaluate your purchase and determine if it is worth it. B)

The hull is a 98 based off the title, boat I think may be older

If it's that new, it will have VIN molded into the hull, usually on the right rear and the last two digets will be the year model

You can take the serial number off Mercury and Mariner motors to any dealer and they can tell you the year model.
