no that isnt the tournament, i fish thursday night tournaments on gun lake where you just show up, pay, and fish but thanks for that info anyways maybe that can come in handy.

You might want to visit them to see if they could steer you in the right direction. The only other thing that came to mind was a local branch of MBAA as there are small groups all over western Michigan that hold week night tournaments.

A year or so ago, I ran across a website that listed many of the club's schedules all on the one site. Now that I'm done fishing tournies, I didn't think to save it to favorites. If I can remember it, I'll PM you the info.

You've got a nice home lake down there. The one thing I do remember from my trips down to it though was that summer weekends can get rather busy. Sounds like Thursday nights would be the time to fish it.

alright thank you, yea the tournies are just whoever wants to fish it pays 40 bucks and its run out of the state park but its not the DNR that hosts it, yea gun lake is a great lake but it can be hard to fish at times especially with the majority of the lake being 5 feet deep or less.

Call D&R Sports in Kalamazoo. They will most likely have a name or a phone number.

Check out the site for NBAA, they have 3 different leagues that are spread out on week nights and weekends.

I've never fished Gun Lake, I have been to Jordan lake down that way.

I fish Crystal Lake, Townline lake, Lake Ovid and a private lake in Farwell called Surrey Lake.

I know this is a old post but here it goes ...I started the Thursday night tournaments on Gun back in the late 80ties and it is still going today.....KVD started fishing it years ago and JVD was a fishing it and still does from time to time...

It is a volunteer deal and a 100 percent payout....In the peak of the summer 50 boats is common...
