  1. I would use a flipping stick and flip the wall staying fur enough away not to be detected...Shaded areas during correct light may also play into effect...Been there done it
  2. Been catching small mouth for a couple weeks in the love making areas but no super toads .. Hey see u are from Clare ??? So do u know Kevin Vida ?...Use to fish against him years ago and have a few brews....Also saw him on a fishing show the other day on a lake near u.
  3. I now live north of Newberry @ Pine Stump ....I have a been looking for tournaments in the area here but not too much luck Any Yooper tournament folks around?.....If so mail me @ lodgingsnfun@att.net .
  4. Ice is just leaving here on the north coast of Mi. so not too warm
  5. What SD card should I buy for my Hummingbird 9 for Michigan and area. Also where to buy and what about the create lake info cards or? Thanks Jay
  6. A kid that I mentored fishing tournaments until he went to collage had a sack in Florida with a guide that was 55.6 lbs for 5 fish His big one was 12#s 13 oz. that was featured in the lunker club in BASS magazine ..3 others well over 10 and a 9.9 My best Michigan 5 is around 27
  7. I was always in favor of year round CR ... Thanks to the internet and forums I was aware of a proposal/proposals that would effect bass fishing in Michigan and was able to voice my opinion about bass fishing in Michigan.
  8. I am from Barry county a little to the north
  9. That shoreline looks familiar
  10. That is fine ....Gun is a lake that has a lot of shallow water so a 1 foot change in water depth can be key also....If it stays warm the SM should be done and in post spawn but lingering years have them on beds... LM can be caught shallow then on weed patches... Best thing to do if you are a fishing a tournament is to spend lots of time on water to learn areas for patterns and what fish are doing....Old saying U are no better than the water U know...
  11. Better check that date as harvest season is not until 5/23 As far as fishing it will depend on the weather in the weeks to come...
  12. We get bit off a lot and I never use a wire leader unless a wire leader is the norm with this bait...Never used a wire leader bass fishing. I make a modest living as a engineer but I cannot afford a hundred to 400 hundred dollar bait...I do have 50 dollar top water bait but rarely ever ;loose one to a pike....
  13. Not sure what you mean as I have never heard the name... If you are referring to my comment about money winning tournaments? It was not driven at any one person. It was driven however to the price of some of these baits and that the average guy could not afford trying to make it at the pro level or any level or against the fish. It was also driven to my old tournament days and the guys that could beat any pro in the country but they just did not have the money to take the leap. Sorry I will stop...
  14. In Michigan we have a thing called a Pike so a little out of my price range to buy these baits I was a looking at on a popular tackle site and the prices. That also got me going about some that have way too much money and buy wins on the tournament tours...Just my 2
  15. Looks like a glorified swim bait to me
  16. Good stuff and news to me so I am a goggling next
  17. I think the question is about his fishing? He has to use a team to support him and we fish against the fish...One on One...Just my 2
  18. I am in favor of catch and release year round and keeping harvest as is but to move LSC to same as rest of state. Dan do you know if we had a year round season if the state of Michigan would plant bass like the other states in the union that have a year round season?
  19. I have had one of my best years ever here in Michigan...My 5 best so far was 18.1(Not a super sack but good) with sacks averaging 12 to 16 Also 3 weeks ago I caught the most big Pike in one day ever.. I had 3 over 40 3 Near 40 and several others near the 35 mark all on cranks as most of my bass as of the last 3 weeks....Before that since it has been a later year....cold...My fish have come mainly on a spinner bait with my best a 5/13. So pretty good year here for me and I have not hit my best lakes yet cause I have been a staying close to home.
  20. Very common but as said change hooks The old pro trap had the line slide thru the bait but I never liked them much myself
  21. Bend the wire
  22. I use to fish 6 days a week 4 or 5 during the week and at least 8 on weekends on average Today I pretty much fish just on the weekends and it is hard for me to get out of that 8 hour mode as that was normal tournament hour time.. If it is a good day I may quite a little earlier than 8 hours but if it is tough I may fish even longer as it is always a challenge to me to beat the bass at their deal and try to figure the deal out... Boat traffic is normal for me and I block that out and even use prop wash to catch on an attack type deal bait like a spinner bait.. Back in my old full time tournament deal I would fish during tournament hours and learn the lake until super time or motel check in the rest of the time putting around and a looking..... The old saying that I learned from an old timer was "You are no better than the water you know"
  23. Michigan has just passed a bill to open up the language on the law books for bass fishing in Michigan...
