Tungsten bullet weight colours

Featured Replies

Do painted or unpainted bullet weights make a difference? I've been using black metal weights right now and the paint chips away after a while. I was thinking about getting some tungsten bullet weights, but I'm not sure if I should get black or unpainted. Which do you prefer? If you prefer the colour ones, do the paint job chip easy?

I use all black and do not think it makes a difference. With that said, i fish only stained/dark water. The painted tungsten weights are very durable and do not hip easily! Unless you fish a lot of rocks and such!

I've used both painted and unpainted weights and have not seen a noticeable difference in the catch rate. With that said, I like using the painted ones...just a confidence thing.

I only use Tungsten weights and the only color I use is black.

When you guys flip, you you use the Denny Brauer weights or just stick with the bullet weights? Are there any advantages to using them?

The bullet weights only go up to 1/2 oz. I think.

When I want a lighter weight I use the bullet weights and when I want a heavy weight I use the Denny Brauer Flippin' weight no matter what I am doing.

I use the Denny flippin weights all the way down to 3/8oz. IMO the shape makes it fall through any vegetation better

I just bit the Tungsten Bullet myself. I did not see where color mattered....I went with black.

Most of the tungsten bullet weights I have are the XCalibur and those are available up to 1 ounce. The somewhat flat base lets weeds get between the weight and bait occasionally.
