Stick It Anchor Pin

Recommended Posts

With my 17' bass boat I use a 20 lb. mushroom anchor when needed. I have seen advertisements for the "stick it" anchor pin type anchors that look like a sharp pole that you stick into the bottom and tie to your boat. They come in 7', 8', and 10' lengths. Anyone ever use this type of anchor and would you recommend it?

It's a Power Pole without the power. If it's what I'm thinking of you would mount some type of cleat to the bow and or stern and take the pole and manually shove it into the bottom. Do you have room on your boat to have the poles laying around? Anything over 7' won't fit in a rod locker.

I've had a guide use 2 on Lake Okeechobee. He lashed them to the side of the boat as we traveled. When we stopped to fish he pushed them into the bottom and fastened them to cleats on the side of the boat. I can't speak as to how they would work on hard bottom or if was windy.

The guide were made from PVC plumbing tubing and my guess would be about 3" O.D.

I have the "Stick It" 8' with brake and mounting kit. Love it. It works great in most conditions with my 21' stratos. I would recommend it for anyone who fishes shallow as much as I do.
