Fish Finder Recommendation ?

Featured Replies

Dear Readers:

I mostly fish from the shore. Lately, I have been thinking about getting myself a “FishFinder”. However, I am not sure which one to get and how would it work from the shore? The main reason for usage would be to give me a BOTTOM STRUCTURES AND DEPTHS. (I am not really concern with fish whereabouts) I am seeking some recommendations and advice? If you have one, could you please recommend/advise and share your experiences? (My budget is nothing more than $300.00). If not, is there something else that would give me bottom structures and depths at simultaneously?

Thank You.

The only thing I can think of is the Humminbird Smart Cast.

Here is a link to it

A good carolina rig will do you better.

hummingbird has put down imaging on most of there units ....they start out at about $300.00.....but a good unit to buy is the H-B 798combo with si & di but $900.00....but this thing has it all ..hot maps and all...I have a eagale fishelite 480 great dept finder ....but it's hard to find fish .....have some one take you out on the water with the new side or down imaging fish finder ......and I think you will want to save some more money to buy a good finder ...$900.00 lot of money ...but to find a #10 bass and catch her .......priceless

A map and a jig. No electronic device exists that can do what you want from shore.

I'd save up for a while and buy a cheap jon boat if you can find one. Being out on the water without electronics is definitely better than being on shore with a fish finder. So if you have something to transport it with I'd try for the boat.
