Quanum Energy Pt And Pts

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if there was any performance difference between the pt and pts. I noticed when looking at the specs on the side of the box of the pts, bearings were described as a 9 bearing system. The pt on the other hand, was described as 9 pt bearing system. Is there a difference in the quality of these two bearings? I believe the pts might have seals or something to prevent corrosion, does this affect casting distance or fluidity?

Please excuse the fact that i cant spell in the title...

I believe the s in PTs stands for salt and that the main difference is the finish. There may be other small differences in component material but I don't think the bearings are different. If they are any different casting shouldn't be any affected either way.

Yes the S in the PTs stands for the saltwater version of the reel.

yeah, sorry for the confusion, but i was aware that the pts was the saltwater version. I was just wondering if along with exterior changes for corrosion resistance, there were changes in the bearings to prevent the salt from entering. On top of that, i wanted to make sure that the smoothness and fluidity was not worse in the pts than it is in the pt.

i have many of both the pt and pts, honestly i do not see a performance difference at all. they are both great reels

before i bought the pts I was using just the pt at the coast and never had a problem out of them at all, great reels
