Manns crankbaits

Featured Replies

I have had alot of luck on the manns baby 1-  but what about the rest of the minus series like the 4- or 8- any luck on them?

I dont use manns or no anything about them but i baught a Thinn Mann at walmart for 75cents and plan on useing it

The 1- is a pretty good bait, but I find that Mann's baits in generally are low in quality; on par with Strike King.

The 1- is the only mann's crankbait I use because, like Natural said, the rest look pretty low quality.

A buddy picked up some Manns loudmouth II in Warren Ohio GanderMountain from the bargain bin. They were $1.29 ea.

If they are at your local store for this price I will pay $2.50 ea for Manns Loudmouth II in Desert Sunset the packages are marked assort colors so it's Ornage top Yellow bottom and brown bars with some spackle on it.

PM me if you have seen them.

Have used a lot of Mann's products over the years.  In the hardbaits, the Model 79 is one of my all-time favorites.  Wish it were still in production.  In the Minus series, I have used a bunch of the Baby size, a few of the Mid and full size 1-.  Because I had always been happy with what I had bought I got several of the 4- and 8- when they were introduced.  The oval rings would jam on the 8-.  All of them (4- and 8-) had the finish split open.  Never understood how the Baby 1- could be so good and the 4- and 8- were anything but.  I caught a few fish, but the bait quality was not there.  I'll not buy more.

the main reason i started this post was that i bought several of the 4- baits to modify and i cut down the bills to match the 1- and repainted them, and i just wanted to make sure i didnt screw up a perfectly good bait to make something similar to the 1-
