Spro BBZ-1

Featured Replies

I just recieved this bait yesterday and was wondering what is the Best way to fish this bait?

which sink rate did you get?

i have one floater and one slow sink,

IMO really no wrong way to work them, the action stays amazing from slow roll to lightning rips!!!!

and a quick slap will send them looking back in the oppisite direction.

theyre very nice baits all around.

of the 2 i have, that is my favorite.

its the slow sink in dirty shad,

you can keep it on the surface very easily, or you have the option to let it run under a little.

like i said, really no wrong way to work it.... once you get it in the water, you'll see what im talkin about.

Cast out, count down the fall rate(1ft every 4 sec), when it reaches desired depth, reel it slowly back to you and enjoy!

It's the first swimbait I've ever owned.  I went out back and threw it in the pool and it still amazes me how great it looks.

I love the action on this bait. It's one of my favorite swimbaits. I have the slow sink and have a lot of confidence in it the way it swims.

Slow sink here too..I have the dirty shad..wished I'd got the reg. shad pattern..but, it does have great action.. :(

I have the slow sink and just like Dink said, cast out, count down and start a steady retrieve. Its a great smaller size swimbait!

I like a slow, steady retrieve with the occasional twitch mixed in here and there.

Pretty  much what they said works.... however, I have had issues with fish hitting and not hooking up on this bait.  Not sure why yet.  I've been paralleling rocks with it and they just want to roll at it.  I'd say Im only getting around 1 out of 5 fish to actually hit and stay on. Great looking bait though.

wait, are you talking about the BBZ-1 shad or the BBZ-1 (which looks like a 6-inch or 8-inch trout)?

regardless, all BBZs do this trick where you give it a quick jerk with your rod tip and quickly feed it slack line and it will turn 180 degrees to face any fish following it...really great for triggering a reaction strike.

personally, i think the slow-sinking BBZ-1 shad sinks way too s-l-o-w-l-y and rises too quickly so i have storm suspendots plastered all over mine. i have the fast sink version too and i think that one should have been labeled slow sink.
