Which Ar 15

I'm thinking of getting a AR for coyote, fox, bobcat, and ground hogs along with paper punching. I don't want a tactical carbine unless it's a pre ban. Iv been looking at the DPMS bull panther 20" RRA coyote or Fred eichler series or a bushmaster varmint.

The RRA all come in wylde chamber so I can interchange .223 with 5.56 without a issue in a semi. The RRA are also the best looking IMO. The RRA and dpms both are about the same price. Bushmasters are more by almost $500.

What are your guys thoughts on them any experience with said company's

None.............I owned a Busmaster M4 carbine clone, and a Armalite M16A2 rifle clone. Sold them both. The only AR I would consider owning any more would be a pre-ban orginal M16 configuration Colt SP1 slick side with the three prong hider, and triangle handguards now. I don't care for the way the AR platform has been made bulky and heavy.

The DPMS I just sold off was quite nice. Shot well and could shoot good groups with it. Look at it like this. With everyone as gaga as they are over these rifles, after market parts are easy to find. Buy the DPMS and just build it out to whatever you want. Doesn't take any smithing to build em up.

That's my advice if your deadset on a AR. There are much better rifles in a semi out there that aren't on the AR platform. I hear Springfield makes some nice ones that are not AR style.

Me I use a .308 on coyote and what not. Mainly being cause I don't feel up to buying another rifle. If I feel real saucey I use a 17HMR ain't have one get away from it yet.

I'm not dead set on one iv just always wanted one and there's nothing you can't do with the thing. Swap uppers and u got a whole new gun. Iv also have a ton of trigger time with the platform being in the army.

Iv thought of parting it together because it's actually cheaper and it's how I want it the uppers I like range from 500 to 650 and lowers complete can be had at 150-300 but to buy pre built is 1200-1500.

On a side note what load do u use out of the HMR I also have one but haven't shot a yote with it just fox and coon mostly I'm running cci 17gr TNT and 20gr game points both have same POI so no sighting in to shoot the different gr.

16 gr CCI and 17gr Remington Premier. If you don't headshot 'em you run a risk of them dying slow somewhere. Hittem between the eyes or under or right in front of the ear. Hit em right and they never know what hit em.

Oh yeah all about shot placement no matter what ya use like the hog on predator nation the killed with a pellet gun!

My brother in law owns a Rock River Arms and its a great gun. He uses it for coyotes. Personally, I would buy an AK 47 an get a side mount and put a scope on top and put a tri pod up front. A lot cheaper to buy, cheaper to shoot, an more knock down power. Dont listen to the accuracy stuff, i shoot groups just as good as my brother in law with his AR from 500 yards.

No doubt about it, an AK is every bit if not more so than an AR. I personally prefer them over an AR. Never had good luck with a side mount scope on one though. Now replacing the bolt cover with a custom one with a rail, worked great for me. No rattle that way.

The bushmaster varmit or predator are both great for yotes. My partner has the predator. I've seen him shoot a few with it and have shot the gun myself. It seems to be a great gun. I had a s&w m&p. Don't get one of those. On another note, I now use a Ruger Mini 14 Target. I love it! It's a heavier gun at around 10 lbs. but it is a tack driver! Good luck and good hunting.

I plan on getting an ak but it will be my "home defense/zombie slayer" I know the ak is accurate the in accuracy stereo type is from full auto spraying our enemy tends to use but all the aka iv shot were just as accurate as my m4 and more reliable.

Make sure you get those rounds that are made for zombies if you plan on shooting them. A normal round wont kill a zombie.

Yup zmax haha

I'd go with the RRA, my RRA M4 has been good to me, and I have plans to buy another. I've handled and shot bushys and DPMS', and I feel an RRA is a step up from either for sure.
