Featured Replies

Does anyone OWN, or ever felt a 7'11" MED duckett cranking-casting rod? I just ordered it for deep cranking, did it feel suite for that appication?

Why are you asking after you already ordered it? Can't change your mind as easily now.

NWIbass, anything Boyd Duckett is going to be acceptable.

For deep cranking I would have suggested a medium heavy or a heavy rod depending on how deep you are going to be fishing those big deep diving crankbaits.

Also, if your rod has the micro guides I think you will lilke them. I have the Skeet Reese MH and heavy rods with the micro guides and those two rods cast beautifully.

Check out the G. Loomis website and you can read about what G. Loomis has to say about their technique specific rods. Then take that informatin and parlay it to your advantage with other rod brands.

All of my bass rods are either MH or Heavy and I suggest you reading about the various rods on the various manufacturers and Tackle Warehouse web pages for future reference and consideration,

Be sure to post some pics of your catches with the Duckett rod.

It's horribly underpowered and lacks a lot of what a good crankbait rod should be. The guides are notorious for breaking and are not covered under the warranty.

The Ducket is the best rod you can buy int hat price range. I own several. I'm prtty rough on my rods and have only had 1 guide fail and it was swiftly replaced under warranty.

The Duckett rods are awesome, in terms of weight, balance, and feel. They are terribly under powered however; the MHs fish like Ms, and the Hs fish like MH's. I never use anything lighter than an MH so I cant truly speak on those.
