What is the trick to swapping out the bottom blade on a spinnerbait. Any time I try to bend the loop out at the top to remove it I end up ruining the wire frame  :-/ Any tricks out there?

Get a small pair of round needle nose pliers. You can cut the loop part off which will shorten the wire a whopping 1/8" or so. Slide the clevis and blade off, amke your change and bend the wire back around in a loop using the pliers.

Not trying to insult your intellect here but are any of the frames your using titanium? They break every time and I have since given up. If there is a way to do those I would like to know it.

I use a pair of hemostats to bend the loop out. The hardest part is if you have tiny beads and spacers that need to come off.Then the wire needs to be totally straightened out. One other suggestion is to use "long arm" spinnerbaits and that way if you snap it or cut it off like bamtam said your not doing any damage.

I had the same problem with titanium so I start heating it before bending it and it helped a lot.

No insults taken BF but no it's not titanium. Just regular old wire frame, long-arms. My problem as always been after removing them never really being able to get it bent back straight enough. I'm going to try round bend pliers and hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks for all the tips.

I fish my spinnerbaits through a lot of wood, brush, and grass. I think that setup would snag a lot more than what I currently use. It is a nice setup though.

I have used the brand you suggested as well, and can 2nd this statement... had no more hang up issues with the secret weapon spinner than any other quality brand.

I think the spinnerbait "how-to" video on this site (not going to rewatch to confirm, but I think that's where I saw it), changing blades is talked about a little bit.  If you are just changing the bottom blade then instead of trying to straighten the frame, just hold the frame close to the end with one hand and with pliers grip the bottom half of the loop and twist it to the left or right instead of pulling it down away from the main leg of the frame.  Once you've twisted the end away from the main arm of the frame enough to swap out the swivel then replace the new blade and swivel you want to use and twist the frame back together again.  

I don't know how it works on titanium frames, but I've used this technique quite a bit with good results.  This way you aren't bending the frame as much in order to get the swivel off and it maintains its strength much better.
