I recently got a Bionic Blade rod from Bass Pro. I had a gift card and i needed another rod so i figured I'd try this one since I've read plenty of good reviews. I know its not the top of the line but when I got my rod it doesn't seem to have alot of backbone or power. I ordered a medium heavy and i have several other MH rods and this one seem almost like a medium. Does anybody know anything about the BPS Bionic Blades? If so please let me know. Thanks.

I had a spinning bionic blade rod once. It wasn't bad at all, but that's all I remember about it lol. I can't even recall the length, let alone the power or action, it was so far back.

_{I have two of the MH spinning. Their action isn't as fast as some, which would make some think they're underpowered. I feel they are powered correctly, the action is just a little slower.}

I have Bionic blade spinning 6'0 light I use for dropshot and it has handled very nicely my largest bass thus far at just over 5 pounds. 6'6 Medium for my casting rod and 7'0 ML for my Senko's, jigs and any thing else I tie on. They are one of the best value's with great action. With the new handles it has got to have lightened it and balanced it a lot better. They usually put them on sale in the spring so keep an eye out.

I have an older casting Bionic Blade MH that might be a little closer to medium that most, but think it is still plenty heavy. Then again I find a lot of MH to be way too stiff for me. I do use lighter lures typically though (like I throw a 3/8 jig more than any other) so it is a good fit for me and my jigs.

Thanks for all the info guys. Im gonna give this thing a good shot because if i like it, im gonna pick up a few more. Ill gladly pay under $100 for a good rod.

BassinNC, I have one and it is a very good rod.

My friend and I were fishing a tournament on the Potomac River two years ago and he had a Bionic rod and he was nailing those 2+ pound bass on a pink trick worm all day long.

I was very impressed.

All I can add is that it is good rod for the money and you should have many years of enjoyment out of it.

I think it depends on what rods you are comparing it to. I have a MH bionic blade and I think it is pretty close to the rating. I also have a MH Veritas that feels closer to H. There really isn't a standard across the board for different manufacturers to conform to when it comes to rod power.

I have 3 Bionic Blades. Have had them for over 8 years now and they still work just fine. One is 7' MH, another is a 7' M and the last one is my 6'6" ML drop shot rod. Can't tell you how many fish I've caught with these rods. Like the old Ranger once said, "it'll do to ride the river".
