One Piece Or Two Piece

I want to purchase a 7' MH Fast action rod and wonder if there is a difference between a one piece rod and a two piece rod in terms of power, action, and/or rod sensitivity. Appreciate your opinions.

A one piece is going to be more sensitive than a two piece but there are some good 2 piece rods available but they do cost a lot. If you're not hampared by space to the point you don't need the 2 piece then get a one piece rod.

Agree, one-piece if space is not an issue. However, if it is, then get the two-piece and don't worry about it. Two-piece are good quality rods, more so than they used to be years ago. I still have a couple and don't have any problems with them.

Well said!! And spot on!

i own both but prefer one piece

There should be no difference in power or action but there will be a slight decrease in sensitivity in the 2-piece, but you may not even notice. The two piece are better if you need to transport your rod in your car often, but usually you can find a way to transport one piece rods in most cars. I have one 2-piece rod that I keep in my car at all times because its not in the way.

A modern, quality 2(or more) piece blank with built in ferrules is plenty sensitive and durable. Totally a matter of convenience. Power and action variance between the same blank in one or two piece is negligible in most cases.

I have a 1 piece GLX MBR 783C and a 2 piece GLX MBR 783C and I really can't notice the difference in performance or sensitivity. As others have mentioned, it is a matter of storage and convenience.

You all seem to be of the same opinion. Thank you all for your advice. With a little more rain here in Texas, we might be able to see the water in the lake from the launches.
