Picked up a ML spinning rod at a price I couldn't pass up. First time I've ever bought a rod without researching it first. I'd like to know if any of you have fished these rods yet? The production ones. Naturally I'd like to hear in particular from someone who has used the spinning ML rod. Thanks.

From what I hear about most of the V series rods, it will probably fish a little heavier than it what says...maybe more towards a medium. But they sure are pretty...and darn light too.

I'm not sure about being lighter than the Veritas, I read someone weighed both and the Villian was a hair heavier than the Veritas, nothing that would be noticeable by just holding though. I believe Abu Garcia has the rods made to pair specifically with the MGX and the others were meant to pair with Revo models.

In fact the center of gravity was about 6" forward of the trigger. So I did a little experiment, and scotch taped some quarters to the butt until the weight of the rig was centered in the trigger. $6.25 later and it felt great, but that added about 3 inches to the length. A friend of mine got a 7'1" M-M, and he also found that its COG was forward, but only 2". He hasn't stopped laughing at me long enough to tell you how much weight it will take to balance it.}

Most rods over 7'2" are tip heavy, epecially the ones with split grips. Certain techniques I actually prefer a rod that is slightly tip heavy.
