Well as some of you have read in my other thread iv been struggling with my 2 mile run for the army. Well I just ran to the gate and back which is a hair over 2 miles(2.2 clocked in the van) and I did it in 15:50 which is my best time sense iv been outa basic. I only need 16:36 minimum so I'm good. That's also 2 minutes shaved from last weeks test when I ran it in 17:54. It was a nice run though I'm not no track star never will be just happy I made it in a passage time alot was due to help and motivation I got here. Norcalbassin helped a ton pming me helping me diagnose my knee and foot pain and got it squared away best he could threw just messaging back and forth and now I'm almost pain free.

Just thought I'd share my progress and give thanks to those who here who motivated me cuz I was thinking it tonight while running telling my self it's just 2 miles and I got we done in 15:50 within my goal now to do it on test day.

There ya go - good for you.

So now - consider this point in your training as your base line. (Not the pinnacle of your abilities)

This is the point that you will never allow yourself to drop below - ever.

You are now on the right track to a life time of good health for which there are many benefits and they are All Priceless.

And to keep you motivated - (I think you mentioned this is a previous post),

The initial run test to be eligible for Ranger training is a pass/fail sub 40 minute 5 miles.

And that's just to get into the program . . . . . . .

Good Job Man.

Thanks yeah I know I made a comment bout ranger in another post it's been offered to guys but I'm seriously considering getting outa dodge after this deployment. I'm done with the military my 6 years is up 6 months after my return. I think the only way I could stay is if I went aviation but that's not likely either. I'm just gonna use this deployment to get into shape heck I'm only going to kuwait a a infantryman wooooo whoptie do lol get into shape come home finish out stay in shape and get out.

Just get home safe... And, thank you for your service.... :USA:

Just remember that just running 2 miles is quite a bit different than going from Push-ups to Sit-ups and then trying to run 2 miles. You're time will be very different.

For my 1.5 mile run in the Navy i would train 2-3 miles. Always run further than your goal.
