Tackle Stores In Atlanta?

Featured Replies

Road tripping down to Georgia this weekend. Any good shops I need to try and visit? Other than BPS, so over them.

Not sure where you will be (Atlanta is a big place) or what you kind of tackle you are looking for, but there are plenty of options. If you are in the Buckhead area, the Fish Hawk is one of the best all-around fishing stores you will find. It's definitely fly-fishing and saltwater focused. The owner, Gary Merriman, caught the world record blue marlin about 25 years ago. It's mounted on the wall of the store and will take your breath away.

If you feel like an adventure, the best bass-fishing store I have found (and ever been in) is a little place in Paulding County called Nature's Tackle Box. Run by a great lady who knows her stuff. It's about a 45-minute drive from Buckhead, but if bass fishing is your thing then you won't find a better place.

If you make it up 400, then Hammonds is a solid place to hit up.

Hammond's is the place worth hitting with a big selection. Biggest shop here by far with some different stuff you don't see in many shops. If you are on I-75 there is a place called the Dugout not too far off of it near Kennesaw.

if you are near hiram, definitely try nature's tackle box. they are/were the only place close you could get dobyn's rods and definitely have lures I can't find anywhere else.
