What Topwater Baits Are Good For This Time Of Year? P.s. Its 40-50 Degrees Here In Louisiana Early In The Morning Around 6:00
when the water gets cold, dont be afraid of big topwaters, but go SLOW. I had some really nice action during the winter on top, but with very SLOW presentations of relatively large lures. That was caught mid February on top with an 8" floating lure NGaHB

It's Been A While- Hudd Bite In The Metro Atl Area
The plastic recipe he's used on the weedless is extremely soft, and also has alot of friction, I've brought it in with leaves stuck to the side, yea the side, of the bait many times. They are extremely snagless, but not so weedless, I bet that an application of pro cure or some other slippery attractant might change that up completely. NGaHB

It's Been A While- Hudd Bite In The Metro Atl Area
Yea, Im afraid shes probably gone to the great beyond by now. a 24" fish with that big of head shouldnt weigh 5.5 Its a home brew rat bait, but based off a real fish catcher that's unavaliable now. Im not sure how close to the original it is, but Its my favorite topwater swimbait i've got. Funny thing is.... Big bait, small fish NGaHB

What Color Buzzbait For What Type Of Day?
I also use black and white only. I've got several diff brands with three of each in black and white. I bend one to run to the left, one to the right and one straight. That way I can ruin up tight to cover no matter myorientation. NGaHB

Reel Painting/ Polishing
Not that bad at all, the polishing wasnt the way im going in the future, but painting you dont need to get into the gear side of the reel, just pull off the handle. It was a fun project. NGaHB

Reel Painting/ Polishing
I thought I'd share a project I've been working on for a few weeks. Stripped and polished some parts, painted the frame. I was planning on anodizing the alum parts, but multi metal construction keeps me from being able to do that. Later Shimano reels will just be painted. Shimano Cardiff 301 NGaHB

It's Been A While- Hudd Bite In The Metro Atl Area
After loosing two fish in the last week, one of which flipped off at my feet and was well within the DD category, I decided that today I was going to fish the 8" weedless hard, and when the bite came do everything that my instincts told me not to. I fished most of the afternoon, and when the bite came, heres how it went down. I felt the thump, quit reeling and let my line go slack, I saw the line jump (I'm assuming she was repositioning it) and then move off to my left. I waited till the line had moved about a foot, reeled in the slack and swung harder than I have ever before. She was in about 3' of water and actually came out of the water alittle on the set. Not a monster by any stretch, but a solid fish to break a rough streak All said and done I was excited to get the first to stick on the weedless. Gatta love the south, tee shirt and still sweating two days before Thanksgiving. NGaHB

World Record Largemouth
I have had a great year that has allowed me to see a slew of decent fish. There is a MAJOR diff between a 10# and a 12#, and a new step into the teens. A random fish's ability to grow to 10# is decent I believe, to 12# I'm more skeptical, and the jump into the teens, much less 20#+ is dependent on genetics. You could force feed 10 randomly selected bass high protien pellets and I feel it is unlikely any of them would break 15#. I pull scales on all the big fish I catch, you'd be suprised at some of the ages. As far as small water goes, there have been several 15#-16# fish caught out of south georgia farm ponds >20 acers. That being said... those next 6 pounds are much harder to get than the first 16. NGaHB

This Is My Norm...
I've heard that, also heard about him doing a feeding program, getting them in a set schedule, odd but at the time I remember it being from a relatively legitimate source, an interview I think. Either way, the fellas caught and laid hands on fish I can only dream about. More power to em. NGaHB

How big are south African bass?
I've always liked the body shape of the African bass I've seen. Very diff from the trout fed hogs that California pumps out NGaHB
