  1. I've been pretty impressed with the Academy brand shirts, never delt with their zip off pants tho NGaHB
  2. It's 7' or longer for everything for me. I use all the way up to 9' for some bigger baits. NGaHB
  3. I think switching a stiff MH or Heavy rod and stepping it up to 50# braid or heavier is going to be one of the better plans. NGaHB
  4. there are some pretty good videos on youtube for painting. be careful with carving, Ive got several serious cuts, but its really rewarding to catch one on a lure you made. NGaHB
  5. This man know what he's talking about NGaHB
  6. Thats a serious fish, my guess is 13.7... I've got to get me some camo shorts NGaHB
  7. I 've fallen into that same thing myself, I try and try, but keep going back to the huddleston NGaHB
  8. with as vicious as bass are, and how they appear in any wet mudd puddle... if bass dissapear we've got alot bigger problems than what to fish for. NGaHB
  9. It all depends on the body of water. I have several places I dont even bother weighing a 7 pounder, I also have a pond up the road from the apt that I called the girlfriend and made her come take a pic of a 3 pounder because it was a monster for this 1/4 acer of water. Its all relative. NGaHB
  10. Tie directly for the best results NGaHB
  11. is 1:53 in a kennesaw golf course? Great fish man! NGaHB
  12. I have to say my experience has supported this NGaHB
  13. Try out 316 mission fish and Huddleston 6" weedless trout NGaHB
  14. I haveant fished them in a long time, but I use to fish them all the time. I tried the double hooks, wasnt a fan at all, also used a arsenal of diff worm hooks. I settled on a 4/0 round bend hook for the best hook up ratio's. NGaHB
  15. Id also get some split shot, an assortment of cheap bait hooks and some floats. Then hook on some worms, I use these basic methods for panfish and trout, youll catch a bass every now and again too. Easy way to stay busy while you read up. Getting out and doin some fishing is also a great way to figgure them out. See where they will bite, then learn behavior from there. NGaHB
  16. Fannin those beds will bloody a tail up quick. Thats great lookin fish, I would guess its atleast 5.5, but you never know, could have been over 6. Pictures are bad at capturing true size NGahB
  17. You can pull a scale and count rings to get an idea. I caught a 12 this year that seemed to be 5-7 years old, but this is from a freak pond. I pulled a scale from a 7 that looked to be over ten years. Its really dependant. But with those big ol eyes I would guess shes alot older than 6 or 7 NGaHB
  18. Ive started using giant wake baits to find the fish, and come back and clean up later. A big wake bait will pull alot of big followers, once you find em you know where to try and catch em. Its resulted in several good fish this year. NGaHB
  19. Youll get all sorts of responses on this. I think that scents cover up our smells more than tricking the fish into thinking its a crawdad or trout or whatever. That being said I've got some pro cure coming my way next week. NGaHB
  20. How many other folks fish this place, alot of the time fish in ponds see lures ALOT more than people think. Try out something new, giant baits of whatever sort or tiny baits. Go at night and target them that way, however you think they havent seen yet NGaHB
  21. I've got a giant selection of soft plastics, spinner baits, buzzbaits and swimbaits. Yet I catch all my fish on a very few lures. Not that the others wont catch fish, but youll do much better to focus on a few lures than try and juggle 15 diff types. If your into cranks get a shallow a mid and a deep and fish them 90% of the time. If your into plastics then fish those few plastics all the time untill you figgure them out. I believe if you get to know one type of lure well enough you will be able to take it and adjust your fishing style/ fishing location, and catch fish with that lure 90% of the time. To me knowing a lure well is much better than having a box full of stuff that is alien to you. NGaHB
  22. get an extra microwave if you have a lady that lives with you... Three times of melting plastics in the microwave and I got it explained to me that was a bad plan A hot plate will let you keep it at the right temp and not scorch it, also be careful, that stuff can burn you real bad too. Other than that its pretty easy to get the general idea, hard to get it perfect. Good luck man NGaHB
