  1. I cant say I remember it, but i think that this is what planted the seed. NGaHB
  2. Thats one of the longest fish I have seen. And folks say the FL heat burns out fish before they get above 12# NGaHB
  3. Sounds like a GREAT trip. awesome catching as usual NGaHB
  4. Yea go with a larger hook, I really did well with a round bend hook as opposed to a wide gap or EWG. You can also boil some water and dip the legs in to soften them up alittle NGaHB
  5. Try out big hammer's as a trailer, relatively cheap and come in quite a few sizes. NGaHB
  6. Not sure how much weight your planning on throwing, but if you want a "big bait" rod then id suggest an Okuma guide select. Ive got a 7'6" H and can throw from 1.5 oz up to 4.5 oz relatively comfortably. But if yout going to stick with small baits, under 3 oz, then I would suggest getting a BPS XH flippin stick for $40 and try em out before dropping too much money. NGaHB
  7. The rig or a mid sized swimbait would be where I would be looking. NGaHB
  8. I'm glad you posted, I was about to link to one of yours! NGaHB
  9. The ones that sound like a cinder block hitting the water... you never have to share a spot for long NGaHB
  10. My bet goes to it having a block from a swollen up plastic worm, or some other intestinal blockage NGaHB
  11. A big thing with more expensive lures is quality control, at $2 I dont think theres room for much of anything in the ways of QC... barely buy decent hooks at that. That being said I hope that they turn out well for you. NGaHB
  12. I'm looking to transfur some of my bass fishing lures, swimbaits, into catching musky. But I would like to think that the noble bass is smart enough to not go after some of those ugly lures used for musky NGaHB
  13. Only thing I will say againt STE, which is a video I really enjoyed and gave me the drive to keep chunkin big baits, is that they use way more hooks than I think you need. I know I've missed a few smaller fish due to only using one small top hook, but I think all the hooks on the bottom lead to dead fish. NGaHB
  14. I've used 20 pound CXX, but feel more comfortable with 25# CXX, which truthfully is closer to 30#I believe. As far as there being trout, or not being trout, I've never seed a 10" worm slinking along the bottom of any pond, but bass sure seem to like em. NGaHB
  15. The Avids seem to have a real different power to them than most rods of the same rating, Id suggest seeing if you can fish one before you buy one. BUT... they are really nice rods NGaHB
  16. Id throw in some sort of walk the dog lure, skimming over the top of some submerged greens. Lets you cover water quick, and can draw some big girls
  17. Ill happily accept an invite to a bad fishin day! NGaHB
  18. If you want to mess around with one I would suggest making a few and seeing if your into em. you can make one for pocket change NGaHB
  19. I dont blaim the guy at all, legalities aside as I dont know what is exactly legal or not legal in this situation, Its a pretty rude move to throw out a meat fishing setup in a private pond, especially when you are not a property owner. That rope could easily ruin a trolling motor and snag alot of lures. I would stick to fishing proper in this pond and be sure to apologize to the old fella when you see him again. Acting like a snotty kid is not going to get you anywhere other than loosing access to this pond. I saw your other thread and see you are "catching" some nice catfish, youd have alot more fun taking some energy drinks, or whatever gets you goin, and fishing through a few nights. That 20# cat would have been alot more fun on a MH bass rod than it was pulling up a drop line. NGaHB
  20. vacuum tubes for high end audio, nothing like a 75 year old tube getting fired up for the first time and putting out some serious tunes. NGaHB
  21. I take it you have the IGFA rule book cemented up in your head. NGaHB
  22. Crossbreeds have always treated me well. I use one for my Glock and havent had any problems with it at all. NGaHB
  23. I am always excited to see what fish your into. You live a great life. NGaHB
  24. Thats a hog anywhere... In Mass... you got yourself a MONSTER! Congrats on the great night. NGaHB
