Aaron Martens Scrounger Head

Featured Replies

There awesome. They work well and give any soft plastic a very nice wobble. I usually throw the 1/8 or 1/4 ounce the most.

thanks.

that was my search.

hope i didnt put you out too much doing your search.

Naw, no trouble.

As I wrote in one of the other posts. The scrounger has proven to be a good search bait for me this year. The 1/8 oz with a Tiny Fluke on it thrown on a Shimano Clarus 7' 0" Light extra fast with a Sahara 1000 Spooled w/Suffix braid 6 lb.  flouro leader. I have only long bill scroungers at this time and am really happy with their performance. The heavier like the 1/4 oz and up will carry a super fluke. I have found on many an occasion that a slight pause on the initial strike will give them more time to take the bait. Just like crank baits, too quick a setup will result in a "Had a bite" syndrome. The fish will tell you what you need to do. Haven't tried swimming a worm or grub on one yet, maybe that's next.

BTW the 1/4 oz and up can be thrown on your regular crankbait rods.

Most of the time for me it's a do nothing bait. Cast & Retrieve, that's it.

1/8 oz = Tiny Fluke 2 3/4"

3/16 oz = Fluke or Fin-ese 4"

1/4 oz + = Super Fluke 5" *NOTE

I have not been pleased with the action of the 5" Super fluke by Zoom (too rigid). I buy a store brand from a local tackle shop, they seem to have much more action to them.

They are not the cure all end all, but I like knowing they are in the box and seem to work most of the year just match the size to local forage.

PM me if you have any other ??

Good Luck & tight lines
