Featured Replies

I have fished the double drop-shot and done very well. I can have two baits at how deep I want. I have had a good number of doubles and most of the time they are smallmouth. Has anyone tryed this double drop-shot too?

i like to use a shakey head as the weight on my drop shot rigs

I've tried it (double DS baits) several years ago. Not with much success though. Seems I have better control of what my bait is doing when fishing a single. As far as the jig on the bottom goes, how do you know which hook set to employ when you detect a take? With a single drop shot bait, you don't really "set" the hook - rather just lift & reel. You'd never be able to set the hook on a jig moving along the bottom that way. At least not to my way of thinking? I could be wrong. My wife tells me that just about every other day.

In any case, I'm very focused when fishing and prefer that focus directed to one bait. But that's just me. :)

No but you gave me an idea. How about an umbrella drop shot rig! OK. maybe not.

When I fish a double DS I set it up two hooks on the line and I still fish with the weight on the bottom of the tag line! With the new VMC spin-shot hook it will make it a evan better rig!

i like a thin wire hook on my shakey heads and just make sure they are razor sharp. i normally dont have much of a problem hooking the fish with them with the technique you described. ill take up the slack and when i start feeling weight ill lift up and reel at the same time

Yes, and when I loose the bottom half to a snag it becomes a single, haha.
