What would you guys put on your spinning set up ML for river fishing now and summer small cranks, topwater and finesse later?

Fluorobraid. Small diameter, excellent sensativity, and it sinks. Teamed up with that ML rod you plan on using and you shouldn't lose many if any fish. Only thing is I wouldn't reccomend it if you were going to fish topwaters due to its ability to sink.

Sounds good, and saves a trip to buy more line. I still have some mono I can use for topwater in the summer. Thanks for the boost.

Yes. I have. Not my favorite nor my first choice, probably down towards the bottom of the list but of the two he had listed I'd take it over the YoZuri.

Now I'm a bit confused. I wanted a braided line that also sank. If its not the first you would pick, what line is? And what are the negatives for either line?

tmeir... I think your expectations of a "sinking" braid may not be realistic. I fish a couple of reels with Sufix 832 and I think it is very good line, but it doesn't "sink" like a rock. The current of a stream is going to negate that characteristic of the line. I encourage you to be concerned with casting and handling characteristics of a braided line. Cabelas currently has 6lb test lime green 832 discounted on-line.

Thanks. I have already spooled up with spiderwire, and from a few trips out it casts well and I was surprised at the sensitivity compared to the garbage (Stren Flourocast) I was using. I could feel the barrel weight rolling over the sandstone until it fell of the ledges. Pretty cool IMO.

Ive tried the flurobraid by spiderwire and didnt like it at all. Never tried the yo zuri brand so couldnt help with that.

I have heard more good things than bad. I take it for what it's worth but I will be trying the hybrid on my spinning set up.

I guess where it failed for me was it doesn't seem to sink as fast as I would've liked. It sinks don't get me wrong just not as fast as a straight fluorocarbon. Its somewhere between fluoro and mono. I still would use it because the smaller diameter would help cranks dive deeper quicker and you can still feel while using finesse lures. I personally would use a straight fluoro such as P-line 100%. Like I said earlier, I really expected it to sink just as fast as a straight fluoro. Just my opinion though.
