ZOOM Super Hog, How do you fish them?

Featured Replies

I have a few packs of the Super Hogs and normally use them as jig trailers or t-rig them.  What do all of you think about them? How do all of you rig them?

I like it for a pitching bait with a heavy weight and lifting the rod very slowly to crawl it over and through brush. It has more of a mild action to it than something like a regular brush hog in case thats what the fish are looking for. I have also had mild success with it on a carolina rig. Black and blue saphire, green pumpkin, and black emerald are my favorite colors.

Most of the time I T-rig them, sometimes as a jig trailer. A watermelon/red superhog is responsible for my PB of 7lbs. ;)

However the fish like them  ;)

You can also fish them weightless, let it sink to the bottom and lift your rod tip back to where you are at.  They have a very slow sink rate.

I've done very well on them this year pitching them to weed cover.  1/2 oz pegged tungsten weight with a 3/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook, 15# line, mh baitcaster.

try them t rigged weightless work them like a fluke but slower or drag it across the slops or thick pads and kill it right at the edge bass love it

I rig it with a hook and cast it in the water.   ;)

They are quickly becoming my favorite soft plastic bait.  With there compact size, there great for pitchin' to brush. Working them deep on points, like you would a football head jig, can be really productive,  exspecially when everyone else is fishing jigs!  My personal favorite color is green pumpkin with red flake
